I really loved these poems and fragments. Even though these are ancient poems, I still found that they were beautiful to read and kind of took me away to another time and gave me another perspective of poetry. Very beautiful and interesting to read. I highly recommend this book and also.....check out Sappho's poetry. Wonderful!Product details

I love this book.........and the price is perfect. I have loved his poetry from introduction in high school and am thankful to have it.
Love the poem about kisses.
Catullus is a pretty, uh, scandalous poet for his time, but his work is quite nice. Very descriptive - like 50 Shades of Grey for the ancients! This particular translation is more censored, but when you look into his work...wow!
I found out too late that the exact same translation is available for free from Gutenberg. The kindle version i purchased from is unreadable, with spaces missing between words. A complete waste of ten bucks. The free book from Gutenberg is much better formatted, but since it is the same edition (tr. Ellis 1871) unfortunately shares a Victorian prudishness and a love of archaic English. Caveat emptor!!!
